Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi is overjoyed after his son Ram Charan's debut on the popular morning show Good Morning America . Charan appeared on the show's Wednesday episode and spoke about his latest blockbuster RRR.
As the clip of Charan's interview went viral in India, Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to share his excitement. "A Proud Moment for Telugu / Indian Cinema @AlwaysRamCharan ,features on the famed #GoodMorningAmerica Amazing how the power of One passionate idea born in the visionary @ssrajamouli ‘s brain, envelopes the world! Onwards & Upwards !!," he tweeted.
Charan's new-found global fame has made Chiranjeevi swell with pride frequently in the last few weeks. Earlier this month, Chiranjeevi had another proud daddy moment when Hollywood legendary filmmaker James Cameron praised Charan's performance in RRR.
"Sir @JimCameron an acknowledgement of his character in #RRR from a Global Icon & Cinematic Genius like you is no less than an Oscar itself! It’s a great honor for @AlwaysRamCharan As a father I feel proud of how far he’s come. Ur compliment is a blessing for his future endeavours," he tweeted earlier.
Charan made quite an impression on his maiden appearance on one of the popular breakfast shows in the US. Many fans had shown up at the studio to greet the star before he did the interview. Charan described all the awards and recognition that RRR was getting as a "tribute to Indian cinema."
"It's the first time in 85-plus years of Indian cinema, the Academy has recognised, the Golden Globes has recognised and multiple other critic awards. It's not just RRR, It's Indian cinema and Indian technicians are being honoured," he said.
Charan is in the US to promote RRR as it's nominated in the Best Original Song category at the upcoming edition of the Oscars. Charan's RRR co-star Jr NTR is now mourning the death of his cousin Nandamuri Taraka Ratna and hence he's away from the promotions.
