Simran Choudhary, Ayraa play other key roles in Atharva, a crime thriller

Karthik Raju, who began working on the mystical saga Hasthina Puram recently, will be seen in this week’s release - Atharva. Directed by Mahesh Reddy, Atharva (to release on December 1) is a crime thriller which features Simran Choudhary, Ayraa as the female leads. Subhash Nuthalapati is bankrolling the film under Peggo Entertainments. Offering a peek into its premise, a sneak peek was unveiled today.
In the sneak peek, three members in a middle-class family are found murdered. In the crime scene, there are cops around the house while the ‘clues’ team, comprising Karthik Raju, Kalpika Sharma and others, is investigating the triple murder. The sequence showcases the efforts undertaken by the investigation team to arrive at a conclusion, after which they break the news to a senior cop and the media.
The uniqueness of the sequence is the fact that it’s filmed in a single shot, with the director’s eye for detail coming to the fore. Simran Choudhary is seen as a journalist. The makers promise a gripping, tense crime thriller packed with riveting twists and turns and the glimpse leaves us craving for more. Sricharan Pakala’s haunting background score contributes to the tension.
Vijaya and Jhansi are the executive producers for the same while Nuthalapati Narasimham and Anasuyamma are the presenters. Arvind Krishna, Kabir Singh Duhan, Vijay Rama Raju, Gagan Vihari, Ram Mittakanti, Kiran Macha, Marimuthu and Anand play other crucial roles in Atharva. The team expressed its satisfaction with the response to the trailer, songs and other promos from the film.
Charan Madhavaneni cranks the camera for Atharva, which is edited by SB Uddhav. Raam Kumar is the art director while Kasarla Shyam, Kittu Vissapragada are the lyricists for the album. Aadi Saikumar was also part of a web series revolving around a clues team, Puli Meka, also starring Lavanya Tripathi. The Telugu show was widely watched on ZEE5 this year.
