Atlee on Allu Arjun's AA22: It’s addictive to watch… even Hollywood technicians are calling it challenging

Director Atlee, who last made Jawaan, is currently immersed in mounting this big creature feature film starring actors Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. The film, which is currently called AA22, is in production stages as Atlee recently opened up about it to the media.

Speaking on the sidelines of Bengaluru Open 2025 to India Today, Atlee said, "The shooting is going well as planned and every step is a baby step. This genre of a film, there is no Bible. We need to incorporating and discovering everything. God has been kind." Further speaking about the project and the risks associated with it, Atlee said how audience have been kind to him and pushing him to new levels.

"It is not a risk, and I am enjoying the process. It is something new and very intriguing and addictive to watch. Let us wait for some more months and I will come up with something for all of you to watch,” he added while mentioning that they are working with Hollywood technicians. “Even they are saying it is a very challenging film and that means we are creating something,” Atlee said.

Deepika Padukone plays female lead in AA22:

Hindi actor Deepika Padukone has been in the news after she exited two big south projects; Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD sequel. However, the actor is very much part of the Atlee-Allu Arjun film. The actor’s role has been kept under wraps, but as per reports, Deepika Padukone will be joined by multiple leading ladies, but their names have not been confirmed. It is also made clear that the music for AA22 will be scored by Sai Abhyankkar, who has an array of films in the line-up. Further updates on AA22 are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
