The fact that James Cameron has confirmed that he had shot Avatar 2 and 3 together, and has already submitted the script for Avatar 4 to the studio had left us all stunned. Because the sequel Avatar: The Way Of Water came after over a decade and now there is so much abundance of content from the franchise had us all excited. But with no update on the third in sight as we are close to celebrating the first anniversary of Way Of Water in less than a month, it dulled the hopes. But turns out Cameron has decided to make our Christmas 2025 merrier.

As per the latest update, James Cameron has confirmed the release date of Avatar 3, and it is the biggest surprise he can give to the fandom. What is more surprising is the fact that the movie has not been affected by the Hollywood strikes and is smoothly sailing through post-production as we speak. James, in his latest comment about the third part, has confirmed that the movie will indeed hit the shores during Christmas 2025 and is on the right track.

As per ComicBook, James Cameron said, "We're into a very hectic two years of post-production right now, so it'll be Christmas of '25." Avatar 3, as per the last update, is set to release in theaters worldwide on December 19, 2025, and as per Cameron’s latest surprise for his fans, the movie is sticking to the same release date. As per updates in the past, it was also said that there is a 4th film scheduled for December 21, 2029.

While James Cameron shot for Avatar 2 and 3 together as he didn’t want the actors involved in the movie to age, he had even written the script for the fourth part. Back in the day, as per the same portal, he had said how he got a one-page note from the studio when he gave the script for the third, and the studio was left speechless when he submitted the script for the fourth part.

"I can't tell you the details, but all I can say is that when I turned in the script for 2, the studio gave me three pages of notes," Cameron explained. "And when I turned in the script for 3, they gave me a page of notes, so I was getting better. When I turned in the script for 4, the studio executive, and creative executive over the films wrote me an email that said, 'Holy f-ck.' And I said, 'Well, where are the notes?' And she said, 'Those are the notes.' Because it kind of goes nuts in a good way, right?"
