Avengers: The Kang Dynasty abandoned by director Destin Daniel Cretton; to focus on Disney+’s Wonder Man and Shang Chi 2 – Details Inside

No other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects have seen what one of its most anticipated projects is currently seeing. What was the most highly coveted film when announced, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, is gradually falling apart with each passing day. With writer Jeff Loveness breaking all ties and confirming that Marvel is moving away from the Kang storyline, the latest news says that The Kang Dynasty has now even lost its director, Destin Daniel Cretton. 

Destin, in case you don’t recall, is the man who shaped the highly successful Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Ring for the studio and is now even in charge of making the sequel to the film. He was given the responsibility to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which sits right at the end of phase 6 just before the Magnum Opus film Avengers: Secret Wars. 

It turns out the date of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has yet again thrown a fireball at the project, as Destin Daniel Cretton has abandoned the MCU films to focus on his other projects. The update in Deadline says that this is an amicable decision and that Cretton continues to be a part of the Marvel family in a big way.

How, you ask? While he has walked away from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, he is still in charge of creating Wonder Man. The filmmaker will now get back to the Yahya Abdul-Mateen starrer Disney+ series that he is creating with Andrew Guest; apart from that, he has a big responsibility with Shang Chi 2, considering the first quite successful and loved film in the MCU.

Meanwhile, Jeff Loveness, while announcing that he has moved on from his writer duties on Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, revealed that he was too wrapped up in the Kang storyline and the studio is probably now moving away from it.
