Ayan Mukerji's film Brahmastra has received praise for becoming a box office hit. The film has received a lot of appreciation for its incredible primary premise and gorgeous graphics. The movie's attempted love theme and awkward conversation also disappointed viewers, yet a handful of the characters and the main narrative captured their attention. Nevertheless, it did garner some criticism and unfavourable feedback. Ayan addressed the issue yesterday when discussing his response to these evaluations.

Ayan stated during a news conference yesterday that he hasn't yet taken in the criticism of Brahmastra. The film's true settling down, according to the director, won't happen for another few weeks. Despite his insistence that he is ready for criticism, Ayan made the pun that rather than embracing a film for what it is, people frequently respond to what they did not see in the movie as well as what they imagined a movie to be.

According to Pinkvilla, Ayan said, "I have heard stuff like the dialogues did not really work as well; people weren’t 100 percent convinced about the love story. So, I am hearing it, but I am also waiting for enough time for the film to truly settle, to be released on streaming, to be released on satellite, and then to really make sense of all the learning from what people have said, because I don’t want to learn the wrong lessons. There are a lot of people writing about the film and all, and I am happy to hear it, but I don’t know if they have a pulse on what is truly working and not working on a film, and I think you can go very wrong when you start over-listening to everything as well. So I am trying to be sure that the right feedback reaches me so I can learn from that for the future."

On September 9, the first Brahmastra movie had its theatrical debut. Among the cast are Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone both make fleeting appearances in the film. It is confirmed that Brahmastra: Part Two - Dev, the franchise's follow-up, will be released in theatres on December 20, 2025.
