The upcoming GV Prakash starrer Ayngaran is set to grace OTT platforms, skipping over its theatrical release due to pandemic worries. The movie will be made available on SonyLIV come August 13.
Featuring Ravi Arasu, well known for his film Eetti, in the director’s chair, Ayngaran tells the story of a dutiful engineer, played by Prakash, who by his skills finds himself a pawn in a dangerous game.
The trailer for the film, released over a year ago, sparked anticipation among Tamil cinephiles from the get-go. It starts with policemen arrive at a scene of a crime with blaring sirens and a dog squad, and we hear a voice-over in the background telling us the facts of the baffling case. It yielded no fingerprints, evidence or witnesses, leaving law enforcement in stunning shock. Interspersed with scenes of violence, viewers also witness the protagonist, a severe-looking young man and an engineer by profession, who seems to have got himself mixed up with the wrong people.
In addition to the multi-talented actor-singer, the film also features the acting talents of Mahima Nambiar, Kaali Venkat, Siddhartha Shankar, Hareesh Peradi and Abhishek Vinod, to name a few. The lead actor will also serve as a composer on Ayngaran. Prakash also has a host of other films coming up including Aayiram Jenmangal, Adangathey, Jail, 4G, Kadhalikka Yarumillai and Trap City.
A Common Man production, Ayngaran features a script penned by Anand Kumeresan. Anal Arasu and Raju Sundaram choreograph the action and dance sequences in the film respectively.
