The much-awaited Baaro Raja song from Darling Krishna’s Luckyman is here. The song, featuring the late Puneeth Rajkumar and choreographer-actor-filmmaker Prabhudeva, has, interestingly been choreographed by Jani master. Director S Nagendra Prasad is Prabhudeva’s brother, so, obviously, he’s also quite the dancer and yet, they decided to get Jani master to get Puneeth and Prabhudeva to burn up the dance floor. The song was officially launched by Kiccha Sudeep, in the presence of the film team, including Prabhudeva.

Earlier this week, during a press conference to speak about the film, Nagendra had explained that the idea behind the song was to have a tribute to the late Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar. It had to convey what Dr Rajkumar was about, but had to be peppy too, quite like the Lungi dance number is about Rajinikanth, he explained. Sung by Benny Dayal, and written by Dhananjay Ranjan, the song has been set to tune by V2 Vijay Vicky. The lyrical video features some behind-the-scene sequences of the actual shoot of the song, as well as of the recording of the song with Benny.

“When I asked my brother about being a part of the song, he not only agreed immediately, but also worked around his dates and then took a personal interest in getting everything for the song ready. The idea was to have something like, say, the ‘Lungi Dance’ song about Rajinikanth, with Annavru (Dr Rajkumar) reference instead. In fact, two days before the shoot, the song was not ready. But everything fell into place eventually and the final song is quite magical. You’ve got to see it on the big screen,” says Nagendra.

Fans, of course, have been going gaga over the visuals of the ‘two legends’ together in one frame and predict that Luckyman will be a big box office success. The film is the Kannada remake of Ashok Selvan’s Oh My Kadavule and has Puneeth playing god, a role that Vijay Sethupathi did in the original.
