Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey has opted for a big Holi release. Considering the festival, the movie is likely to cross Rs. 15 crore mark at the Box Office on the opening day itself. A report on Koimoi confirms the same. The movie was previously expected to cross Rs. 20 crore mark on day one itself, which is no huge feat for Akshay’s movies.

The Box Office collection’s prediction has gone down after screens for Bachchhan Paandey were reduced. Owing to the demand of Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, Akshay did not get as many screens as always for his upcoming release.

The superstar has given back-to-back hits and if nothing, he always manages to earn more money than invested in the movie. To top that up, Akshay is releasing his first movie in 2022, which is a pretty huge deal for his fans.

The actor, who usually releases four movies in a year, is still releasing at least two films since 2021 (BellBottom, Sooryavanshi, Atrangi Re). This gives him a huge kickstart over other actors, who are barely able to release even one movie in theatres owing to COVID-19.

To top it up, Bachchhan Paandey comes from the same production house that has delivered movies like Kick, Housefull and Heropanti – Sajid Nadiadwala. Thus, all eyes are on this commercial entertainer that promises to be a fun ride.

Farhad Samji of Housefull fame has also taken up the role of director after Housefull 4. Considering he has penned Housefull dialogues before helming the franchise film, all eyes are on what new does he have to offer with Bachchhan Paandey.

The makers have invested well in promoting the film but Bachchhan Paandey could face a huge challenge since more people are keen to continue watching The Kashmir Files. Nonetheless, the movie is expected to pick up after morning (around late afternoon and evening) owing to word-of-mouth, that is if the film connects with the audiences.

Whether the film will have a colourful or black-and-white opening, will be revealed on Friday when the viewers go to watch the film after playing Holi. The movie will release on March 18 and if it works well, it is expected to make at least over Rs. 50 crores over the weekend itself.
