Badhaai Do: Rajkummar Rao's prediction was right, Gol Gappa has become a popular number!

Ever since the music album of the upcoming rom-com Badhaai Do was released, it has become a hit among the audience. The film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, has a great playlist with a mixed bag of different kinds of music. One of the tracks Gol Gappa especially has caught the attention of fans. The promotional Punjabi song, sung by Neha Kakkar and Amit Trivedi, is all vibrant and peppy with fun lyrics. The makers have now released the making of this hit song. 

The making video, shared by Junglee Pictures, shows the dance number being choreographed and actors grooving to it with full energy. The video also shares bites of the actors Rao and Pednekar and the filmmaker Harshavardhan Kulkarni, talking about the song and their experience working on it. The team is seen having a gala time shooting for it too. While the music video of the song had an old-world charm to it, the making video features some behind-the-scenes fun moments featuring the two and it shows how they are energised and happy to shoot the song which has got a colourful, happy and circus vibe to it. 

Raj says that the moment he heard the song, he knew it is going to be a popular number and since they did not want it to be like a usual promotional song, they added a story and an idea revolving around the song. Bhumi finds it fun and colourful. She says it transforms a dull life, which most of us live to these days, to a colourful one with all fun elements. And the director Harshavardhan calls it magical. "Vijay Ganguly, the choreography has created magic. It's a peppy and beautiful Punjabi song. We needed to have it as the promotional song," he says in the video.

Besides Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, the family entertainer also boasts of an ensemble cast featuring seasoned actors like Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chadha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitish Pandey, and Shashi Bhushan, amongst others, essaying pivotal roles. Junglee Pictures’ Badhaai Do is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, and written by Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary. 

The film will release in theaters on February 11.
