Beyond the music, excitement extends to the stage. Fans can catch limited-edition Barbie merchandise, strike a pose at themed photos, and involve themselves in the world of Barbie.
This event comes after Barbie's remarkable successes. After winning the Golden Globe Awards for Box Office Achievement, the critically acclaimed film garnered 8 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The film’s soundtrack received 11 Grammy nominations, with its powerful theme song ‘What Was I Made For?’, and won both Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Since its July 2023 premiere, Barbie has become a global phenomenon, grossing over $1.4 billion and setting a new record for the highest-grossing debut by a female director, Greta Gerwig.
Hollywood Bowl will also drop some special limited edition merchandise and photos of the concert on their official website, and tickets from the show will go on sale from May 7, 2024.
This Barbie concert will join the exciting line-up of the Hollywood Bowl's summer 2024 season. Starting from June, this season will celebrate the 100th birthday of legendary composer Henry Mancini with a special tribute. A special festive summer night has also been arranged with a Juneteenth celebration, hosted by T-Pain and special guests, followed by a spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks.
