Simran and Prashanth in Andhagan

Actors Simran and Prashanth are all set to seen together in Andhagan after a long hiatus. The actress, who wrapped up her work in the film, wrote on her social media page that it was a superb experience being part of it. She added that though movie-making was hard, it was the people in it who made it fun. Simran wrote, "Movie making is hard, what makes it a pleasure is the people, the team. 'Andhagan' was one such team, it was a superb experience being part of it. Thank you so much Team 'Andhagan'.”

Andhagan is the remake of the Hindi film Andhadhun, directed by Sriram Ragavan. The film stars Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and the plot revolves around a blind pianist who gets embroiled in a murder. Andhadhun went on to bag a number of awards.

Andhagan has Prashanth, Simran, Karthik, Priya Anand, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Manobala, KS Ravikumar,Urvashi, Leela Samson,Poovaiyar, Lakshmi Pradeep and SK Gopi as part of the star cast. The film marks the acting debut of reality show contestant Lakshmi Pradeep. Music for the film is by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography is by Ravi Yadav and editing is by Sathish Surya. The film was launched with Mohan Raja as the director. He was replaced by JJ Frederick before the film's producer Thiagarajan himself decided to take on the mantle of direction.

Thiagarajan had said that since Prashanth was a trained pianist, it was easy for him to fit into the role. The shoot had initially got delayed due to the pandemic, but they eventually managed to wrap it by last year-end. The post-production work has also been completed and is now gearing up to hit screens. Simran and Prashanth had earlier teamed up for Kannethirey Thondrinaal, Jodi, Parthen Rasithen and Thamizh. This is their fifth collaboration together.
