The year 2022 has been a banner year for OTT, with some great TV shows, ranging from drama and action to thriller and romance. OTT platforms have kept viewers highly entertained all year round, and as we bid farewell to a year of entertainment, here’s a look back at the Top 5 series that ruled hearts and dominated OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, Disney+ Hotstar and more...

Panchayat Season 2 - Amazon Prime Video

After a successful first season, Panchayat was back with an exciting new season on Amazon Prime Video. Season 2 of Panchayat stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy, and revolves around Abhishek (Jitendra) taking more interest in village politics, while also preparing for CAT exams. The series was an instant hit with its unparalleled storyline and dialogues. The cast is also brilliant.

Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach Season 3 - Disney+ Hotstar

A crowd-favourite, Criminal Justice returned with an exciting new season this year. Starring Pankaj Tripathi as the big-shot lawyer Madhav Misra, Season 3 premiered on Disney+ Hotstar and revolves around the mysterious death of  Zara Ahuja (Deshna Dugad), a popular teenage celebrity. Her step-brother, Mukul (Aaditya Gupta), the prime suspect in the case, gets arrested, and Madhav is called to save the day. The eight-episode third season was an instant success, with a brilliant cast and drama-filled script.

Delhi Crime 2 - Netflix

Another popular favourite, Delhi Crime returned with a much-awaited second season on Netflix. Starring Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang and Rasika Dugal, Season 2 followed a fictionalised version of a real crime that took place in 2012, where serial killers viciously murdered elderly people in the city. The police were unable to get to the bottom of the case and therefore ending the brutal murders is a challenge for Vartika's team. While the sequel was more barbaric, it was immersed in the same sensitivity and refined empathy as the first season, and was an instant success.

Saas Bahu Aur Achaar Pvt Ltd - Zee5

Featuring Yamini Das, Amruta Subhash, Manu Bisht and Anjana Sukhani in pivotal roles, Saas Bahu Aur Achaar Pvt Ltd is among the best drama series in 2022. The story revolves around a woman who is struggling to set up her pickle business and earn money to get custody of her children from her ex-husband.

She is helped by her former mother-in-law to market and sell her pickles, while her children head down the wrong path, creating new challenges. It is a simple, yet relatable series with a good message. The ease with which the drama portrays the bittersweet relationship

between the characters is what makes this ZEE5 content stand out.

Gullak Season 3 - SonyLIV

One of the most adored slice-of-life series, Gullak, returned on SonyLiv with a banging new season. Starring Vaibhav Raj  Gupta, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Jameel Khan and Harsh Mayar in the lead roles, Season 2 follows The Mishras as they grow up, and struggle to make ends meet in their middle-class reality. While Aman is the ambitious one, Annu sacrifices his dreams for his family. The family dramedy was an instant success with great acting, screenplay and dialogues.
