Bigg Boss 16: In a first, Salman Khan is handing over hosting responsibilities to Karan Johar? Read to learn more

After charming us all with his frankness as the host of Koffee With Karan Season 7, as it turns out Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is now set to take over Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's hosting responsibilities on his long-running show Bigg Boss 16.

The aforementioned reality TV show, which has been mired in controversies since its debut episode this season, will reportedly see Salman Khan take a step back on this coming Friday (October 21) as the host of Bigg Boss 16 as Karan Johar is all set to slip into his shoes. 

For those of you who are not in the know, every week on Friday conducts a segment called Weekend Ka Veer and imparts life lessons with housemates who have already been making headlines for one reason or the other this season. This weekend, however, Salman Khan will be missing in action.

In a news report by entertainment portal Miss Malini, Salman Khan will not be present this Friday with the Bigg Boss 16 contestants as Karan Johar will carry out his hosting duties. Instead, according to the same news report, Salman Khan will host Weekend Ka Vaar on Saturday as an exception. It has also been reported by Miss Malini that both Salman Khan and Karan Johar will be hosting Weekend Ka Vaar on Friday but there's no official announcement on that yet.

Interestingly, Karan Johar was the first-ever host of Bigg Boss OTT that was held in 2021.

According to Bigg Boss' IMDb page, the show can be summed up as: "Isolated from the outside world, the contestants live together in a house under the live cameras that monitor their every move. They perform various tasks and avoid eviction to be declared a winner."
