Bigg Boss 16 January 17, 2023 LIVE Highlights: Friendships are tested as arguments break out between Archana-Soundarya, Priyanka-Shalin

The latest episode of Bigg Boss 16 saw one of the most expensive ration hauls in the entire season, as the contestants had to make some very hard choices about their weekly rations, at the cost of losing out on their prize money. It was a tough day in the Bigg Boss house when it came to friendships as well.

Here’s all that happened:

Day 108, 8:15 AM IST

Shiv and Nimrit push and joke around with each other. Stan watches it all stoically. The former two even start to use their slippers to beat each other.

Day 108, 8:45 AM IST

Soundarya and Archana talk about Tina’s game. Soundarya says Tina has a complex about her height. Archana talk about how Shiv seems to have handled the mandali after Sajid left.

Day 108, 10:45 AM IST

Soundarya and Archana have a misunderstanding over paratha. Archana tells Nimrit that Archana has always made a copy of whatever she eats for Soundarya as well. Archana says that she is hurt by small things like this, like Soundarya not making a paratha for her. Nimrit tries to reason with Archana.

Stan tells the mandali not to talk about him to anyone. Stan and Shiv says that everyone talks to Shiv and Nimrit about Stan.

Day 108, 12:00 PM IST

Soundarya talks to Nimrit about what Archana said. Shiv and Sumbul joke around with each other.

Day 108, 1:45 PM IST

Shiv and Stan are called into the confession room, and Bigg Boss joke about how Sumbul is behind Shiv. They discuss how everyone is trying to play their own individual game. Stan smiles a lot. Bigg Boss talks about how much Shiv dances with Sumbul, and warns that she is a competitor as well.

They discuss the last task, and how Priyanka and Shalin behaved. When Bigg Boss asks, Shiv and Stan say that now that Sajid left, Priyanka and Shalin are happy. They say that Priyanka must think that she will take the trophy home, and that Shalin believes that he will be in the top six. Bigg Boss says that the intention of the talk was to ‘awaken’ the duo from slumber.

Day 108, 2:15 PM IST

Sumbul sings while she sits with the rest of the mandali. Bigg Boss jokes that she is singing a lullaby to put herself to sleep. Stan says that Sumbul is very peaceful. Nimrit asks Sumbul to talk to other people in the house.

Day 108, 2:30 PM IST

Shalin is called into the confession room. Stan and Shiv laugh. Bigg Boss talks about how he was at the centre of the nomination task yesterday. He says he was confused about what happened for him to be nominated. Bigg Boss says he is popular among the women in the house. Shalin says that more than half the people in the house do not have an opinion for themselves. The discussion moves to Priyanka, and Shalin says that despite being good friends with her, he cannot understand her logic at times. Shalin says that he tried to support her after Ankit left, as Ankit had told Shalin to take care of Priyanka.

Bigg Boss observes that Priyanka always seems to need someone to dominate, and Shalin agrees, saying that it feels like she wants to feel superior by making people feel low. Shalin says that his equation with Tina has left him shaken. Bigg Boss interrupts him, and says that he does not want to hear about it further. Bigg Boss talks about how Tina, Priyanka and Shalin talk to each other, and the latter says that Priyanka tries to dominate there as well. Shalin says that the Tina equation has complicated things, and that he does not want any woman’s character to be maligned because of him.

Day 108, 3:15 PM IST

A sleeping Shalin is awoken by kukudoo. Tina jokes about why Shiv is so boring. They joke about Archana.

Day 108, 5:00 PM IST

Bigg Boss announces a new ration task, which also offers an opportunity to get back Rs 10 lakhs of the prize money. A godown is seen where the word ration worth Rs 10 lakhs is written. Tina guesses what might be happening. The entire weekly ration of housemates is in the godown container. The housemates are required to take shopping carts and run to a red line. The first to reach the line can go to the godown and collect 5 ration items. But the twist is that the rations are priced at exorbitant prices, and each item they pick would be their personal ration. He also announces that the total price of rations would be cut from the Rs 10 lakh prize money.

Day 108, 5:15 PM IST

Shalin wins the first round, as declared by supervisor Nimrit. He is shocked by the prices, and carefully picks the items.

Day 108, 5:30 PM IST

Shiv wins next. Shalin says that he picked coffee for future contingency. Shiv consults with Nimrit on what to take, and Bigg Boss says that he should shop for himself only.

Priyanka asks if Shalin took the coffee for her. Soon the two get into a small argument.

Day 108, 5:45 PM IST

Shiv wins again and he asks for a discount, when Bigg Boss jokes with him about Sumbul. Shalin asks how Archana is going to make the chicken.

Day 108, 6:00 PM IST

Soundarya is declared the next winner, and Shalin says that the former had pushed the cart to the line, and says that it is unfair. Nimrit says that it is her decision and she picks Soundarya. Soundarya is shocked about the prices of the vegan food.

Tina talks about how Soundarya’s voice is rarely raised when it comes to Shalin. Bigg Boss jokes about how good Soundarya’s Hindi is. Soundarya takes milk for Archana, and Bigg Boss says that the shopping should be personal. Archana claims that even Shiv will also exchange his items. Shiv tells Archana not to say unnecessary things. Soon Shiv and Archana enter into an argument. Archana taunts and asks when Shiv started to drink coffee.

Day 108, 6:15 PM IST

Shiv and Archana continue to argue as the task continues. Shalin wins again.

Archana complains about how Shiv didn't share the jalebi. Shiv says Archana has a dirty mind and really bad thoughts. Archana says Shiv eats too much. Soundarya tries to calm Archana down. Shalin also defends Shiv.

Day 108, 6:30 PM IST

Soon only Rs 1, 80,000 is left from the prize money, and Bigg Boss stops the game.

Day 108, 6:45 PM IST

Priyanka and Shalin also start to argue as well. Tina and Priyanka tell Archana that Soundarya does not say anything to Shalin.

Day 108, 7:15 PM IST

Shalin and Priyanka continue their argument. Shalin says that she taunted him, and became angry when he taunted her back. He tells her that she puts her nose into other people’s business as well, and gives examples. The duo accuse each other of disrespecting each other. Priyanka walks away calling each other differ.

Day 108, 7:30 PM IST

Archana and Soundarya discuss the former’s argument with Shiv. Archana says she is proud of her language, and also says that Shiv insulted her as well. Soon the duo enter into an argument, and Archana tells Soundarya not to meddle into the arguments she gets into. Soundarya says that she will continue to tell Archana when she goes wrong. Soundarya says that she will not care about what happens to Archana from there on. Soundarya asks Archana to leave the kitchen, saying the former does not need help.

Day 108, 8:00 PM IST

Archana comes to the kitchen to help Soundarya, and the latter denies needing help. Archana discusses the situation with Priyanka. Soundarya asks Nimrit to keep Archana away from her, saying Archana is testing Soundarya’s limits. Nimrit says that Archana might be plotting to shift her loyalty.

Day 108, 9:30 PM IST

Archana discusses the argument between Priyanka and Tina. Stan dances around.
