In a big relief for the producers and makers of Bigg Boss, the Delhi High Court has restrained the unauthorized broadcast of the popular reality show. The Court observed that the reality show has “enormous popularity” in India and added that any unauthorized dissemination of its episodes would infringe on Viacom18’s rights.
High Court rules in favour of Bigg Boss
According to a recent report published on Bar and Bench, the Court “issued a dynamic injunction order in favour of Viacom18 to restrain rogue websites from streaming episodes of popular reality show Big Boss.”
The order copy read, “... are restrained from broadcasting, telecasting, streaming, retransmitting and hosting any episodes of the Bigg Boss program, which have already been telecasted or which are likely to be telecasted in the near future... If any further websites with the name Bigg Boss are found by the Plaintiff, or any other websites which are telecasting the programs of the Plaintiff illegally, an application shall be filed ... Upon the filing of such an affidavit, the said domain names shall also be locked/suspended and the blocking orders shall be issued.”

Looks like all is not well Sana Raees Khan – a lawyer who represented megastar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drugs-on-cruise case. Ashutosh Dubey, a distinguished lawyer at the Bombay High Court, has voiced his objection, asserting that this constitutes a violation of the rules established by the Bar Council. He has officially complained to the Bar Council of India.
