Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9: Fans left shocked with Deepika Das' elimination

Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 comprises several contestants from the previous iterations of the show who are known together as the veterans. One among them is the actress and model Deepika Das who previously fared as the finalist of season 7 of Bigg Boss Kannada - with prior experience by her side and a consensus that she is one of the stronger contenders of the current lot, Deepika was expected to go all the way to glory this time around.

However, the patrons of the show were in for a shocker as Deepika Das became the seventh contestant to be eliminated from the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 house. Deepika was among the nine nominated contestants along with Prashanth Sambargi, Rupesh Rajanna, Aryavardhan Guruji, Divya Uruduga, Roopesh Shetty, Arun Sagar, Anupama Gowda, and Amulya Gowda.

Although many reckoned that Rupesh Rajanna would get the axe, the voting results revealed Deepika Das and Prashanth Sambargi were in for a tight finish with the former, unfortunately, ending up with the least number of audience votes. Deepika was one of the most recognized and adored contestants of the ongoing season and her exit came as a huge shocker to both her housemates and the many million viewers of the show.

In her post-elimination chat with host Kiccha Sudeep, Deepika divulged that she was aware of the challenges that would come her way this new season and that getting along with the newbies proved to be a tough task for her. She would also highlight her nature of being introverted as one of the reasons for the elimination. 

In the same conversation with Sudeep, Deepika added that she was hoping to become the second female contestant to win Bigg Boss Kannada (the first being popular actress Shruthi). In this context, she said that she would like to see Anupama Gowda end up as the winner and that she isn't impressed with Rupesh Rajanna's gameplay.
