Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9: 'People advised me to not be part of Bigg Boss, so glad I didn't listen,' says Roopesh Shetty

For Roopesh Shetty, the Bigg Boss stint has been a revelatory one. Having begun his journey with the inaugural OTT edition of Bigg Boss Kannada, Roopesh entered the ninth season as one of the strongest and most favoured contestants with a massive fandom rallying for him, standing by him through thick and thin. And much to the fans and his own delight, Roopesh glided through the competition with very few hurdles along the way. Today, ahead of the grand finale, Roopesh stands the best chance to lift the trophy and grow further in stature.

But interestingly, as it turns out, Roopesh was apparently advised against participating in Bigg Boss by many of his close friends and associates. While speaking to host Kiccha Sudeep during the first of the two-part finale episode, Roopesh shared that before his stint began, there was an air of apprehension around him but having spent over 140 days in the competition, he is more than glad that he agreed to the opportunity.

"People told me that I shouldn't participate in Bigg Boss because it would harm my reputation or my career and that I would be perceived negatively by the audience. But I am so glad that I went against the advice and decided on being part of the show. The show has given me so, so much over the last couple of months. I have realized how much my personal life is important because I was only focusing on my professional life. I realized the importance of my family in my life because I missed them every moment of my stay here. And plus, as someone who desired for a very long to get a picture clicked with Kiccha Sudeep, I was able to interact closely with him for so many days straight. I wouldn't have experienced any of this if I hadn't participated in the show. I will be indebted to Bigg Boss," said a visibly emotional Roopesh Shetty.

Roopesh entered the finale week along with Rakesh Adiga, Deepika Das, Divya Uruduga, Rupesh Rajanna, and Aryavardhan. During the mid-week eliminations, Aryavardhan was evicted from the show.
