Binodini Opera: Moon Moon Sen gifts Sudipta Chakraborty saris after her powerful performance

Binodini Opera was staged at the Academy of Fine Arts on 4 April. Actress Sudipta Chakraborty captivated the audience in her role as Binodini. Many viewers posted long reviews on social media, praising her. Moon Moon Sen is also highly impressed by Sudipta. She went that day to watch the play. She then came to Sudipta's place with gifts. Sudipta shared this on Facebook and wrote about her feelings at the surprise delivered by Suchitra Sen's daughter. 

In a long post, Sudipta wrote 'While wishing on her birthday last week, I asked her if she would like to watch my new play. She said yes. She came on April 4 to the Academy of Fine Arts, paid for the four tickets that she and her daughter booked, watched Binodini Opera with her friends and family, and called me at night followed by sending text messages expressing how she enjoyed watching it, how she loved each one's performance, how she loved the way the audience was reacting and appreciating, and how happy she is for me. She insisted that I take a warm shower, eat properly and gargle with hot water before going off to sleep and repeat the gargle in the morning. (Those who already watched the play, can understand why she wanted me to do that).” 

Sudipta further added, “At around 12.00 at night, she wrote to me that she wants to give me a gift and asked for my address. I sent her my address and then I told her that in a few days, I'll go to meet her at her place and take the gift in person. She was very happy to know that. On the 5th afternoon, I went out of home for some work. While out, I was mostly on phone talking to my didi. Came back in an hour to find that our gatekeeper was waiting for me with a bag that contained two lovely-looking sarees.” 

Sudipta then asked the gatekeeper who said that a lady came and delivered the saree. She was sitting in the car for a long time. She asked the gatekeeper whether Sudipta was at her home, and then, after hearing that she was out, she gave the saree and asked him to deliver. 

Sudipta wrote, “By then, I checked my call log if I missed anyone's call. I didn't. Then I checked my WhatsApp and found that SHE called me thrice on WhatsApp, which I obviously missed as I was on call already, and to my utter surprise, I saw the WhatsApp message from her, ‘Just left your house. What a lovely area you live in. In case you want to change the gifts, this is the shop I took it from......................’ She wrote the shop details too. I was in a pleasant shock !!!!!!!!!!'

Sudipta wrote that this was a pleasant shock for her. She felt nervous, happy, and pleasantly embarrassed. She also said that this gift is more than any award to her. She expressed gratitude to Moon Moon Sen for this lovely gift.
