Bird Box Barcelona teaser is OUT: The fear of unknown gets a new definition as it threatens the existence of humanity in an imaginary world

Do you remember the time when the trailer of the 2011 Hollywood film, The Contagion had gone viral on social media in the year 2020? In this fictional Netflix film, the lives of people were under threat due to a highly contagious virus transmitted by respiratory droplets and fomites. The trailer showed, attempts by medical researchers and public health officials to identify and contain the disease going in vain as they battle against the unknown. About nine years later, the world got severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

You must be wondering why am I talking about the film, The Contagion. Here is the answer.

Netflix recently dropped the teaser of a film titled, Bird Box Barcelona. The description of the teaser reads, “After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian (a character in the upcoming film) must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona. As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.”

Sebastian's role will be played by Spanish actor Mario Casas. 

The teaser shows common men fighting all odds to contain the growing prevalence of a lethal force. Will they be successful in knowing what the reason is behind the force and stop its growth within a limited time frame? Only time will tell.

Unlike wearing masks or donning bandages, the officials in the film issue guidelines urging people to cover their eyes at all times to avoid any visual contact with unidentified lethal beings. This film tries to broaden viewers’ imagination of the unknown and prevent any such happening in the near future.

This upcoming Netflix film is a sequel of the 2018 horror thriller film, Bird Box - a film based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Josh Malerman. The film follows the character Malorie Hayes, as she tries to protect herself and two children from entities which cause people who look at them to kill themselves.
