Blink has been missing from Prime Video since early June, which was not the streamer's fault

A few weeks ago, some netizens had noticed that the Kannada film Blink, which had come to Amazon Prime Video, had gone missing. A technical glitch was the reason stated and word spread that the team was looking at uploading a new file on to the streamer at the earliest. It took them a good 3 weeks, though, which, producer Ravichandra AJ clarified was entirely down to his team, and not intentional by the platform. He took to social media earlier today to let audiences know that the film is on the streamer again.
According to a source, Blink was pulled from the streamer because the film team had to make a couple of ‘music-related’ changes. For instance, whenever leading man Dheekshith Shetty’s phone rings, instead of a Kannada song ringtone, you now hear it vibrating. Similarly, some change has been made to the scene of Chaithra J Achar and Gopalkrishna Deshpande singing old Hindi songs. The source says that the team was facing potential copyright infringement issues and had to make relevant changes. This took them a while.
Blink, which is the directorial debut of Srinidhi Bengaluru, stars Dheekshith as Apurva, a young man in Bengaluru, who does odd jobs and a bit of theatre, while also trying to clear some PG papers that he’d failed. However, when he meets an elderly man called Arivu, who claims to have information about Apurva’s long-lost and presumed dead father, the latter’s life goes into a tailspin. The film sci-fi narrative includes time travel. Blink also stars Vajradheer Jain and Suresh Anagalli, among others
Blink came to Prime Video India in mid-May, days after its overseas release. The film was on popular piracy sites before its India OTT release, but fortunately for the team, that did not affect its streaming performance much. Ravichandra had said that within the first 4 days, Blink had notched up 1 crore streaming minutes.
