From Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, to Bobby Deol, the Deol family has been entertaining fans for decades now. Their acting performances, expressions, and dialogues have often been praised. Sunny who will be seen in Border 2 and Lahore 1947, opened up about the Deol family not getting their due in the film industry and also revealed the reason behind it.
In a chat with Zoom, Sunny Deol opened up about how the Deols didn't get the due they deserved in the industry. He said that if there's something for his father (Dharmendra), he does react, the anger in him is what you see on the screen.
When asked if he deserved more, the actor added, "You've grown up in it, the kind of love and you're sitting in people's hearts in such a way, which is not something which can be bought. It is there and that is because of what you are and what kind of thing you're giving to them to hold on to and look up to with those characters, so it is a connection."
Sunny further said that the industry is a place where things have changed; earlier on, years back, it was not like that.
"It has become more commercialized, being corporate and everything. Things have become like that, but I mean, that's the way it is, so you have to accept it and move on with it, whether it is good or bad. Obviously there would be something in us too, as we also don't go around mingling with too many people, we don't go out," he said.
We hardly see Sunny Deol attending parties like other celebrities. Reacting to this, the Jaat actor said that he rarely goes for any parties or anywhere or anything as he feels that if you're good, you get work and if you're not good, you don't get work, you don't run around.
"Obviously, now we run around to promote a film, but that is not because your film is good or bad, it's just to let the people know, hey, the film is releasing," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol will be seen in Border 2. It is a highly anticipated Bollywood sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border, set to be released on January 23, 2026. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, will also star Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Apart from this, Sunny also has Lahore 1947. It is a Bollywood film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, and is set during the historical period of the Partition of India. It marks the first time that Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol have collaborated on a film.
