Undoubtedly the catchiest song melody of the year is Brahmastra’s Kesariya. But it seems that the romantic track led to disagreements between director Ayan Mukerji and the film’s producer Karan Johar. It seems that at one point, Karan even asked "What is wrong with you?" to Ayan. Karan and Ayan opened up about their artistic differences during the filming of Brahmastra, when the duo appeared at the FICCI Frames Fast Track event in Mumbai. Additionally, Karan admitted that he disapproved of a sequence that Ayan had filmed for the movie.

According to a Times Now report, Ayan remarked, “There was stuff which Karan did not like. There was a big Kaali Puja sequence in the film. When you (Karan) saw the sequence, you were very harsh. He really bit**** about it. I hope I am allowed to say that word.”

Karan said in response, “I never did that. I said that the scene was very terrible and I said I think you need to re-shoot it. And there was actually, and we can say it now, Kesariya was shot in another way. Kesariya was shot with Ranbir dancing quite feverishly. When we saw the song, I said ‘What the hell is going on? What is wrong with you Ayan?’. Why were they dancing? Kesariya was shot differently. Same tune melody but treated differently. It is then that Ayan realised it has to be treated differently.”

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote, Arjit Singh sang, and Pritam created the music for the movie Brahmastra which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Following its debut, the love song received considerable criticism on social media because of its lyrics.

Furthermore, in terms of box office performance, Brahmastra has surpassed the Rs 250 crore milestone, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.

In addition to Ranbir and Alia, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy play significant parts in Brahmastra.
