Based on the cult-favorite books and headlined by Shonda Rhimes, the show is one of the most viewed and followed series on Netflix and across the streaming world. As Bridgerton moves into its fourth season, the makers have dropped a behind-the-scenes production teaser after officially beginning filming. Showrunner Jess Brownell has now shared some exciting details about Bridgerton Season 4, including insights on Anthony, Kate, Penelope, and Queen Charlotte. Read on to know everything you should about the upcoming season.

Bridgerton Season 4 to Explore Anthony & Kate

For the uninitiated, Anthony and Kate are one of the most beloved couples in Bridgerton. Their romance headlined one of the show's most cherished seasons. Now, according to Swoon, showrunner Jess Brownell has revealed that Season 4 will delve deeper into Anthony and Kate’s relationship as they navigate parenthood. Additionally, the new season will explore Penelope’s dynamic with Queen Charlotte now that the Queen is aware of her secret identity.

Jess shared, "We've got Anthony returning—Johnny Bailey, which we're very excited about. I can reveal here for the first time today that we also have Simone Ashley returning. So, Kanthony will be together again, and we will get to see more of their marital bliss and their baby as well, which will be a lot of fun. [Penelope] has a new relationship with Queen Charlotte now that she knows who Whistledown is, and her relationship with Lady Danbury is also central to the story."

She also teased Eloise’s predicament, saying, "Francesca is now married off, which leaves Eloise in a position where she’s back in her mother’s clutches again… She’s absolutely dreading it, whereas you have Hyacinth who is desperate to pre-debut early, and the two of them get paired together this season for comedic results."

Bridgerton Season 4 Teaser Released

The teaser for Bridgerton Season 4 has given fans a major surprise. It features Luke Thompson’s Benedict meeting Yerin Ha’s Sophie for the first time at the Bridgerton masquerade ball—a thrilling reveal for fans on Valentine’s Day. Created by Chris Van Dusen, the season will consist of eight episodes and is based on Julia Quinn’s 2001 novel An Offer from a Gentleman, the third book in the eight-part Bridgerton series.

According to the book, Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, falls in love with Sophie Beckett, portrayed by Yerin Ha. Sophie, an earl’s daughter, has been reduced to the role of a servant by her cruel stepmother. The 1-minute, 17-second teaser offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of the Bridgerton set and its cast. Fans can spot Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Colin (Luke Newton), and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) in the video.

New cast members include Jatir Leung, who will portray Lady Araminta, Sophie’s stepmother. Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei will play Araminta’s daughters, Rosamund Li and Posy Li, respectively. The teaser begins with Sophie saying, "It is a spectacular night." She is seen dressed in a silver gown and mask. As the clip progresses, we see the Bridgerton set and both returning and new characters in action. However, the highlight of the teaser is undoubtedly Jonathan Bailey as Viscount Bridgerton, with fans flooding the comment section with praises for him. The video ends with Benedict reassuring Sophie, "Do not worry, I won’t tell my mother."

As of now, Bridgerton Season 4 does not have an official release date. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
