R. Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was chosen from India to have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival. The movie, after its first screening, reportedly received a 10-minute long standing ovation from the crowd.
Madhavan’s movie is based on the life and struggle of Nambi Narayanan, a former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist who was credited for developing efficient liquid fuel engines. His life turned upside down after he was embroiled in a spy controversy, which became international news.
