Telugu actor Naga Shaurya came to the defence of a girl who was slapped by her boyfriend in the middle of a road. In a viral video, Naga could be seen holding the man in question accountable for his misbehaviour with the woman in public. He confronts the man and demands he apologises to his girlfriend.

The civilian in the video is seemingly caught off-guard by Naga's actions. In the clip, the man, however, seems defiant refusing to regret his behaviour. "She is my lover," the man tells Naga. However, Naga is not ready to accept that as an excuse to let him get away with his behaviour. "Why did you slap her in public? Say sorry to her," Naga could be heard repeating his demands.

The girl, who was slapped, however, seems to be very concerned about all the public attention she is getting. In a way, she comes to the defence of her boyfriend and tries to whisk him away from the spot. However, Naga could be seen holding the man's arms preventing him from leaving the spot without tendering an apology.

The incident has gone viral on the internet with many hailing Naga's efforts to teach the man in question some manners. "#HERO #nagashaurya #humanity stopped young Man Beating Women On Road. #TollywoodActor young hero #nagashaurya felt like a real hero after witnessing an incdent happning bfore his eyes (sic)," wrote a Twitter user, who posted the video of the incident.

Many others have also appreciated Naga for the same. "Respect for the great actor..in real life...we should learn to respect our women," commented a Twitter user on the video.

"Naga Shaurya did the right thing, now police should take action and arrest the abusive partner of that girl," said another person.

On the work front, Naga was last seen in Phalana Abbayi Phalana. Billed as a romantic comedy, the film was directed by Srinivas Avasarala. It starred Malvika Nair as the female lead.
