Season 11 of the Celebrity Cricket League had several high-scoring matches and praise-worthy individual contributions by batsmen, many of who single-handedly got their teams to victory or at least close enough. Darling Krishna, from the Karnataka Bulldozers, for instance, managed an unbeaten century in a 10-over innings, while Asgar Khan from the Bhojpuri Dabanggs came tantalisingly close with a knock of 96, Akhil Akkineni of the Telugu Warriors got to 90, while Shabir Ahluwalia and Saqib Saleem of the Mumbai Heroes scored 82 and 80 respectively in different matches.

This season of CCL saw a lot of good knocks, but interestingly, despite these impressive efforts, only 3 batsmen in the top 10 list of highest scorers are still in the running for the best batsman of the tournament. As of now, Krishna leads with 351 runs in 8 innings, while last year’s topper Jammy Banerjee trails behind at 301. At number 3, 4 and 5 are Asgar, Akhil and Shabir with 265, 242 and 211, respectively, but their teams have already been eliminated. At number 6 is Vikranth from the Chennai Rhinos, but he’s far behind with only 186 runs and like Krishna and Jammy has at least 2 more innings coming up in the semi-final on March 1.
Rounding off the top 10 are Anshuman Singh Rajput (Bhojpuri Dabanggs) with 188 runs, Saqib with 185, Aditya Ojha (Bhojpuri Dabanggs) with 175 and Navdeep Tomar (Mumbai Heroes) with 172. Harrdy Sandhu of Punjab De Sher is currently in 11th position with 169 runs, and since he’s playing the first semi-final on March 1 against Jammy’s team, and has been the top scorer for his team in most matches, he will likely break into the top 10. Right behind Harrdy is Rajeev Hanu from the Bulldozers with 167 and he too has 2 more innings in the semi-final against the Chennai Rhinos.
