Sidhu Mossewala's parents welcomed their second baby, a son, nearly 2 years after the death of the singer. Now, the Union Health Ministry has flagged the case of his parents, who welcomed a baby via IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) stating that a woman can only give birth to a child with the help of technique only between 21 to 50 years of age. It is to be noted that Sidhu's mother Charan Kaur is 58 years old.

The elderly couple sought IVF to conceive their second baby two years after they lost their only son, Sidhu, who was murdered on May 29, 2022, in Punjab's Mansa district.

Health Ministry questions legality as IVF is allowed only for women aged 21-50

Flagging the age and demanding the report, the Health Ministry letter read: "Under the Section 21(g) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the age limit prescribed for a woman going under ART services is between 21-50 years. Therefore, you are requested to look into the matter and submit a report to this department of the action taken in this case as per the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021."

It was also reported that Charan Kaur took help from abroad, however, the couple did not reveal details about the same. Government sources told The Tribune that Charan Kaur and her husband Balkar Singh have “used the IVF facility abroad as a woman accessing ART facilities in India is mandated to be aged 21 to 50 years by law.”

Earlier, Sidhu Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh accused the Punjab government, which is led by Bhagwant Mann of harassing the family after the birth of his second son. He shared a video on Instagram and said, "Due to the blessings of Waheguru, we got our Shubhdeep back. But the government is harassing me since morning, asking me to furnish documents of the baby. They are questioning me to prove that this child is legal."

He also mentioned in the video that he would produce all documents as he followed all the legal procedures.
