Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. The historical film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has been garnering positive buzz among moviegoers and the release date is set for Valentine's Day 2025.

Ajay Devgn instantly agreed to the voiceover

Now, as per reports in Pinkvilla, insiders say that Vijan and Utekar have cast Ajay Devgn to provide his voice to Chhaava. When it comes to Indian cinema, the star is one of the rare actors whose voice alone can move an audience. His delivery of language, particularly in intense spaces, can enhance the intensity of the moments on the big screen. A source familiar with the matter claimed that Devgn immediately agreed to give a voiceover for Chhaava after Vijan and Utekar asked him to.

The insider went on to say that Devgn wrapped up dubbing for Chhaava just last week. He was eager to lend his voice to a film honouring the unsung fighter Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, as he had previously made a film based on the biography of the famous Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare. Voiceover has provided a new layer to the tale of Chhaava, and he has already dubbed for his portions, the source stated.

Record-breaking pre-sales for Chhaava

The highly anticipated film Chhaava is expected to be the year's first blockbuster when it premieres on Valentine's Day in 2025. The film has already opened for advance booking, and the preparations for Friday's major release are in full swing.

The latest reports predict that Chhaava will have the highest opening weekend gross for a Bollywood film this year. According to the trade website Sacnilk, the film had grossed Rs. 4.21 crore (or about 1.48 lakh tickets) as of Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. With the block seat statistics included, the film's pre-sales business has grossed Rs 5.53 crore.

Maharashtra, whose citizens are well-versed in the history of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, predictably accounts for the bulk of sales.

Strong box office predictions for opening day

On its opening day, Chhaava is predicted to earn between Rs. 18 crore and Rs. 20 crore nett. Nevertheless, there have been rumblings that the film's producers are attempting to manipulate ticket sales in order to achieve a higher projection.
