The horror thriller Chhorii is only a few days away from its premier on Amazon Prime Video, and the team is on the run with promotions. Being the official remake of the popular Marathi film Lapachhapi, filmmaker Vishal Furia had to find a perfect fit to replace the lead from his 2018 movie.
The director opened up recently about how he cast Nushrratt Bharuccha to deal with the monsters and much more in the movie. The protagonist named as Sakshi is expected to be a relatable person who would look like a girl-next-door and be able to fight and win the same. Nushrrat ticked all these boxes according to him, as quoted by ONmanorama.
Since the actress physically appeared to be a tiny, petite girl, he further found it perfect to look like a victim, or somebody who could get intimidated in a certain way or who could be scared in certain scenarios, he said.
The filmmaker complimented Nushrratt for her hard work. He thinks the actress has a kind of hunger and will to give everything for performing the role. Especially for a film like Chhorii which is a physical and emotional drain, she had the exact input, “So yeah, she was perfect for this role”, he concluded.
Chhorii has already journeyed all its way to get screened at the ongoing prestigious International Film Festival of India, held in Goa. The team is all excited for the screening, which will happen today.
Meanwhile the movie will be streamed from November 26 globally on Amazon Prime Video.
Besides Nushrratt, the movie also features Mita Vashisht, Rajest Jais, Saurabh Goyal and Yaanea Bharadwaj.
