Chini: Somraj Maity is back on TV with thrill, mystery and love

Actor Somraj Maity came back to television after two and a half years. He will be seen in the serial Chini, whose promo is out already. He paired up with Indrani Bhattacharya. After seeing the promo, many people think this tells a story of reincarnation.

While elaborating on this, Sahana Dutta, the maker of the show, told Anandabazar Online, “This serial is not a story of reincarnation. The story is full of thrills. We try to tell unique stories. Chini was born out of that idea. Somraj and Indrani suited well to the roles. We hope people will love it.” The serial will stream on Disney+ Hotstar.

Somraj, for a long time, concentrated on films. In an interview, he said, “It is not that I will not work on television. I am waiting for good projects.” He loved the story of Chini and hence decided to come back to television. 

The promo of the serial shows that the character of Indrani, a driver’s daughter, goes to the owner’s mansion. After meeting the matriarch, played by Sohag Sen, she hallucinates an incident of a car on fire. She tends to run away and realises that there is no fire. The trailer promises to thrill, mystery, and love.
