Titled Chithha in Tamil, the film has opened to glorious reviews all over
Siddharth, who was last seen in the action romance Takkar that released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, is backing and acting in another credible film titled Chinna, the Telugu dubbed version of his critically acclaimed Chithha, directed by S.U.Arun Kumar. With the Tamil version opening to glorious reviews from critics and viewers alike, the Telugu film is gearing up for a release on October 6.
The trailer of Chinna was launched today. The glimpse showcases a youngster’s fight for his niece after the latter goes missing. Siddharth plays a young government employee in the film. He gradually realises that a child abuser has abducted her after an investigation. However, he has no details of the school-going kid’s whereabouts. Despite the challenges, he never loses hope.
While trying to his sister-in-law and come to terms with reality, he decides to take charge of the situation that leaves his near and dear stunned. The distribution rights for the Telugu version across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are acquired by the Asian Group. Chinna is expected to have a limited release given the long list of films that are to hit screens next weekend.
Produced by Siddharth under Etaki Entertainments, Chinna stars Nimisha Sajayan as the female lead. Vishal Chandrasekhar worked on the background score for the film while Dhibu Ninan Thomas composed the songs. Balaji Subramanyam cranked the camera and Suresh A Prasad is the editor. Vinoth Thanigasalam is the sound designer and Think Music bagged the audio rights.
Talking about the film, OTTplay.com's critic wrote, “Chinna is one of the must-watch films of the year, thanks to the terrific performances from lead actors, intriguing screenplay and the originality with which a sensitive subject is handled.” Siddharth’s other upcoming films are the Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 and Test. The latter, directed by Sashikanth, also stars Madhavan, Nayanthara.
