Director Krishna Vamsi, who last helmed Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra's cop saga Nakshatram, is back in action after a sabbatical with Rangamarthanda, the Telugu remake of Nana Patekar's Marathi hit Natsamrat. The film starring Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna and Brahmanandam in lead roles, has music by Ilaiyaraaja. Rangamarthanda has been in the making for a year and a half now. Writer Lakshmi Bhupal is penning the dialogues and lyrics for the project. The team has now confirmed that actor Chiranjeevi has renderded a poem for the theme of Rangamarthanda today.
Sharing the news, the director enthusiastically posted on his social media handle, "The MEGA voice ....the crowning addition to #Rangamarthanda s sky .... ThQ Annyya for ur unconditional love n kindness ... Annayya is rendering the theme of rangamarthanda brilliantly written by lakhmibhupal ...... Am excited n elated .. thqsomuch Annyya." The theme of Rangamarthanda has a 'vachana kavitvam' (a style of poetry) penned by Lakshmi Bhupal that arrives at a crucial juncture in the film.
The writer Lakshmi Bhupal too took to his Facebook handle to convey his excitement about the collaboration with Chiranjeevi. "He has done an extraordinary job of rendering the poem while going through every word, making the effort to understand the meaning in its entirety. The film is about a man who dedicated his life to the stage and I'm happy that an actor of Chiranjeevi's stature is the voice of my words for this poem. I am on cloud nine now. Krishna Vamsi's appreciation has certainly humbled me but it's Chiranjeevi's rendition that has taken the theme of Rangamarthanda to a different level altogether."
"I wish I could elaborate more on the theme of Rangamarthanda. I have been instructed to not speak anything about it. For now, I'm happy to be sharing this news," Lakshmi Bhupal said. Rangamarthanda is the first remake in the career of director Krishna Vamsi and only the second time he's collaborating with his better half, Ramya Krishna. The filmmaker, who hasn't delivered a full-fledged commercial success after Chandamama, would certainly hope that Chiranjeevi's presence in the film would add value to Rangamarthanda. Shivathmika, Aadarsh Balakrishna, Anasuya Bharadwaj also essay crucial roles in the film.
