CID is known for the iconic trio - ACP Pradyuman, Inspector Daya, and Inspector Abhijeet, played by Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava, respectively. The show was renewed for a second season in December 2024 after a 6-year break due to fans' demand. However, the news of ACP Pradyuman's death in one of the upcoming episodes of CID 2 received mixed responses on social media. The news is now confirmed, and Parth Samthaan is all set to be seen as the new ACP Ayushmann. Before he steps into the show, here is everything you need to know about Parth.

Parth Samthaan is quite a popular face in the industry. His role as Manik Malhotra in MTV’s Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, which premiered in 2014, was well-received and the show became a fan favorite.

Parth Samthaan's acting journey
Parth began to receive much love for his roles in Savdhaan India, Webbed, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. He has done series such as Gumrah: End of Innocence and Best Friends Forever? The actor became a household name after playing Anurag Basu opposite Erica Fernandes in the TV serial, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2.
In 2023, Parth Samthaan also did some Bollywood films such as Hamare Baarah and Ghudchadi. He is not only an actor but also showcased his talented musical side when he released his single Jind Meri Royi Royi.

Parth Samthaan on bagging ACP Ayushmann role in CID 2
Speaking to Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan about his ACP Ayushmann role, Parth shared, "It’s a very big responsibility to fill such humongous shoes. I’m not stepping into ACP Pradyuman’s character—this is a new story, a new persona. We’re carrying forward the CID legacy with fresh thrill and suspense."
The actor revealed that his family members couldn’t believe the news when he told them about the role, but once they realized it was true, they expressed their happiness and felt proud.
