The legendary actor Shivaji Satam has addressed rumours that the most recent episode of the famous TV series CID killed off his iconic character, ACP Pradyuman. The renowned actor recently broke his silence to talk exclusively to Bombay Times, clarifying that he is still on hiatus and has not been told whether his track has officially finished.
Fans have been wondering what will happen to ACP Pradyuman since the most recent CID episode saw him getting trapped in a trap set by the criminal Barboza (Tigmanshu Dhulia), which led to a giant explosion. Fans are wondering if this is the end of an era or just a cunning plot twist since the explosion was shown but the character's actual death was not.

Late Saturday night, Sony TV posted a tribute photo to Instagram with the caption "In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman...", adding fuel to the fire of speculation. A tragic loss that will always be felt. Fans who grew up with the series were understandably saddened by the image, which contained the words "End of an era. ACP Pradyuman (1998-2025)," which seemed to indicate the character's death.
It would appear, though, that even Shivaji Satam is unaware of the change.
The actor told the daily that he is completely ignorant regarding this. The producers know what's coming up in the show since he's been gone for a while. Satam is accustomed to taking things slowly, so the end of his track doesn't bother him. But nobody has told me if his track is over or not! Right now, he's not filming anything for the show.
Additionally, he disclosed that a prearranged vacation with his son was the primary reason for his brief departure from the series.
His son, who currently resides abroad, is visiting India in May, so he intends to take a vacation then. For the past 22 years, Satam has taken pleasure in playing ACP throughout the earlier seasons, and what a remarkable adventure it has been. Much of everything he has, he owes to the show. At the moment, he is simply relaxing and relishing life. The actor is deserving of a break because he has worked so hard. The makers know well whether his track will be revived or not.
Ever since CID debuted on Sony TV in 1998, Satam's portrayal of ACP Pradyuman has been a defining figure on Indian television. The police procedural, which was created and produced by BP Singh and Pradeep Uppoor, ran for approximately 1600 episodes, garnering a huge fan following and becoming a late-night mainstay for millions of people in the nation.
Who knows? Maybe this is only a temporary departure or maybe this is the final chapter for ACP Pradyuman. Fans can only dream of a return to the legendary "Daya, darwaza tod do" days for the time being.
