Jan.E.Man-fame Chidambaram is directing Manjummel Boys. Soubin Shahir, Balu Varghese and Sreenath Bhasi are among the ensemble cast of the film.
The makers of Manjummel Boys have confirmed that the film will hit the big screen in February. The cast and crew members of the movie took to their social media pages to confirm the news, putting an end to several speculations over the delay in release.
There were reports that the film was slated to release in February; however, it has been delayed. According to sources, Manjummel Boys centres on a group of 11 youngsters hailing from a place named Manjummel in Ernakulum deciding to travel to Kodaikanal. Their friendship and how this trip alters their lives form the crux of the film.
Jan.E.Man-fame Chidambaram is directing this film. The screenplay for Manjummel Boys has also been penned by the director himself. This film, featuring an ensemble cast, will not be like his unexpected 2021 hit debut film, which starred Basil Joseph and Balu Varghese in lead roles.
Chidambaram stated that Manjummel Boys is not even a comedy in an interview with OTTPlay. "It is more about friendship and travel among a group of young men than it is about humour," he said.
While some of it was shot in Kochi, the majority of it was in Tamil Nadu. Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, Chandu Salimkumar, Deepak Parambol, and Arun Kurian are playing prominent roles in this film. Lal Jr and Khalid Rahman will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Among the technical team members are well-known names like editor Vivek Harshan and cinematographer Shyju Khalid. Sushin Shyam composed the Manjummel Boys soundtracks following his success with his hit works for Romancham and Bheeshma Parvam. The first song, featuring Vedan and Sushin Shyam, was out on January 26.
Manjummel Boys will be releasing, among other highly anticipated Malayalam films, Mammootty’s Bramayugam and Tovino Thomas’ Anveshippin Kandethum. Other February releases include Mukesh and Urvashi-starrer Iyer in Arabia, Biju Menon’s Thundu and Thalavan, and new-age romcom Premalu.
