Darlings song La Ilaaj Twitter reactions: Netizens laud Arijit Singh, Gulzar, Vishal Bhardwaj for ‘beautiful’, ‘emotional’ track

The makers of Darlings unveiled the first song from the film’s soundtrack today, titled La Ilaaj. The soulful track gave a glimpse into the affecting story of Alia Bhatt’s Badru, a victim of domestic abuse. The song, composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, was sung by Arijit Singh and had lyrics penned by Gulzar. Netizens seemed to have fallen in love with the song, and seemed to have nothing but good things to say about the track.

Taking to Twitter, fans spoke of how beautiful and emotional the track was, showering praise on Vishal, Arijit and Gulzar. ‘Soothing’, ‘brilliant’ and ’heartfelt’ were some of the words used by netizens to describe the track.

Users gushed over the trio’s mastery and seemed to be blown away by their collaboration, and one user even referred to them as a ‘legend combination’. Calling Vishal a ‘legend’, one user spoke of how the composer always amazed viewers with his compositions, and praised Arijit’s ‘soothing’ voice and Gular’s ‘wholesome’ lyrics. Another spoke of how Arijit managed to ‘pull off’ the song with finesse. The brilliant composition and lyrics were something that numerous netizens appreciated in the song.

Arijit in particular was singled out by many for his enchanting vocals. One user spoke of how ‘heartfelt and beautifully sung’ the track was, and added that they found the beginning of the song particularly soulful. They also appreciated how the song was picturised.Another user praised the singer for perfectly capturing the emotions of the song, and yet another said that Arijit never disappointed fans with his songs.. 

The upcoming film stars Alia, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. Jasmeet K Reen has directed the film, from a screenplay written by herself, Parveez Sheikh and Vijay Maurya.

Darlings will be released on Netflix on August 5.
