DD Returns: Here's when the horror-comedy, Santhanam's first release of the year, will hit the screens

Fans of Santhanam were excited when the actor announced a few months ago that he is coming back with the popular horror-comedy genre. He scored two hits, Dhilluku Dhuddu and Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, in 2016 and 2019 respectively. His latest project has been titled DD Returns.

However, S Premanand is at the helm this time around. He was the director of the actor's Inimey Ippadithan which was released in 2015. Surbhi plays the female lead in DD Returns which has Maran, Redin Kingsley, Masoom Shankar, Fefsi Vijayan, Pradeep Rawat and Motta Rajendran among others playing important characters.

The team has now come up with an update on its release date. Santhanam himself has announced that the movie will be released on July 28. He tweeted, "Step into a world of mystery, unfriendly but funny ghosts, and unforgettable family fun! Our captivating escape room games bring the magic of a kids' and family movie to life. Don't miss #DDReturns, premiering on July 28th at your nearest theatres (sic)."

C Ramesh Kumar has produced the movie under the banner of RK Entertainment. Deepak Kumar Padhy has helmed the movie which has music composed by ofRo. Hari Dinesh and NB Srikanth have handled action choreography and editing respectively.

DD Returns is Santhanam's first outing in 2023. He was last seen in the underwhelming Agent Kannayiram in 2022. His next release is Prashant Raj's Kick which is expected to be released this year.

The digital rights of DD Returns have been bagged by Zee5. If everything goes well, the movie will drop on the platform towards the end of August.
