Despite Pathaan and Jawan success, Deepika Padukone fails to become top Bollywood actress of 2023

Pathaan and Jawan were one of the most successful films of 2023. Naturally, Deepika Padukone, who was a part of both the movies, should have been the top actress. However, the latest list revealed by Ormax Media says something else. Deepika is among top three but isn’t the most loved actress of the year.

Who is first?

Alia Bhatt, last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, in Bollywood. She made her Hollywood debut in 2023 with Heart of Stone. Unfortunately, the film, which released on Netflix, did not connect with the viewers. Despite it all, Alia is the most loved actress.

Deepika Padukone is in competition and is the second most loved. She had two of the most successful films of the year but did not come first on the list.

Katrina Kaif, last seen in Tiger 3, is third on the list. The actress returned as Zoya in the franchise which is the first in the YRF Spy Universe.

Like most of the time, Kiara Advani came in competition with Katrina. Kiara was last seen in SatyaPrem Ki Katha, which was among the more spoken films on social media.

Kriti Sanon was a part of three movies in 2023 – Shehzada with Kartik Aaryan, Adipurush with Prabhas and Ganapath with Tiger Shroff. She was last seen in Ganapath and soon, her movie with Shahid Kapoor, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, will release in theatres. The film will be the first time that Kriti and Shahid work together.

Shraddha Kapoor might have grabbed people’s attention with Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar opposite Ranbir Kapoor, she missed out on top five. Among one of National crushes, Shraddha is the sixth most loved.

Kareena Kapoor Khan was a part of Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan, inspired by The Devotion of Suspect X, in 2023. The film, which was out on Netflix, received a good response. The actress was last seen in The Buckingham Murders and she will now be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, apart from the 2024 release, The Crew. The actress ranks seventh on the list.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas was a part of one of the most-awaited shows of 2023. She was in Russo Brothers’ directorial Citadel, featuring Richard Madden. Although most awaited, Citadel was not received too well. The remaining episodes of the show will also be unveiled soon. The actress made it to the eighth spot.

Anushka Sharma is coming back as an actor soon enough. The actress shot for Jhulan Goswami biopic Chakda Xpress in 2023 and the film will be out on Netflix soon. The actress ranked ninth, just a spot before Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Last seen in Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two, Aishwarya was more in news in 2023 owing to her personal life. From Aaradhya’s appearances to rumours of her divorce with Abhishek Bachchan, the actress made headlines often, especially towards the end of the year.
