Kangana Ranaut’s action thriller Dhaakad hit theatres on May 20, but has not had the best welcome from the fans. Actor Richa Chadha has now come in support of people who are celebrating the box office failure of Dhaakad.

Bigg Boss contestant Tehseen Poonawalla took to Twitter to sau, “The trolling of #KanganaRanaut for her movie #Dhaakad is extremely unfair! We may agree or disagree with #KanganaRanaut but cannot take away from the fact she is one of the best actors in cinema today and a risk taker. More power to you #KanganaRanaut,”

When a journalist replied to the tweet saying that the movie’s result is because of its quality and that telling the truth is not trolling, Richa Chadha also entered the conversation.

“Aligning with power is easy and has obvious rewards like tax exemptions, awards, special status, security-even literally the Legislature promoting a film! So do you not know that the reverse also holds true Tehseen? People are expressing dissent in whatever way they can. So chill,” Chadha wrote.

Chadha further talked about Kangana’s stand last year when Bollywood was amidst the drug controversy and how she commented on the film industry. The actor pointed out that what is happening today is the consequence of that.

Chadha and Kangana had previously worked together in Panga. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had publicly called Chadha a ‘jobless actor’ in the past.

Directed by debutant Razneesh Ghai, Dhaakad stars Kangana in an action avatar, which was one of the highlights of the movie ahead of its release. Apart from the Bollywood star, the movie also features Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta with Saswata Chatterjee in a supporting role.

The movie has received mixed reviews and is not doing well at the box office. Dhaakad could only mint ₹50 lakhs on its opening day and make Rs. 2 crore on its first weekend. The action thriller is available in theatres.
