Dhanush's upcoming bilingual Sir (Telugu)/Vaathi (Tamil), the actor's first straight Telugu film, commenced formally in Hyderabad today. Samyuktha Menon has been roped in as the leading lady in the project written and directed by Tholi Prema, Rang De fame Venky Atluri. S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are collaborating to produce the bilingual jointly under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
The film's pooja ceremony was held at Ramanaidu Studio, Hyderabad at 10.19 am today in the presence of the film's team besides other dignitaries including director Trivikram, producers KL Narayana, ML Kumar Chowdary, S.Radhakrishna (Chinababu) besides Suresh Chukkapalli, actor, celebrity manager Narra Srinivas and Mahendra (MD, Pragati Printers).
While the script was handed over by S Radhakrishna (Chinababu) of Haarika and Hassine Creations, noted filmmaker Trivikram gave the first clap of the project, with Suresh Chukkapalli switching on the camera. The film's principal shoot will progress in Hyderabad from January 5. Sir/Vaathi's technical crew includes cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan, editor Navin Nooli and composer GV Prakash Kumar as well.
Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani and Narra Srinivas play supporting roles in the film. Avinash Kolla is on board as the production designer while PDV Prasad is the presenter. The film's announcement video that takes the audiences through its visual ambience, a college backdrop filled with abundant nostalgia, impressed viewers recently.
