It was eight years ago when YRF dropped a tease of Dhoom Reloaded: The Chase Continues, which hinted at the fourth instalment of the hit franchise. Now, it seems like Dhoom 4 is likely to happen finally, and Yash Raj Films is holding creative meetings day in and day out in an effort to resurrect the film series starring both beloved actors and newcomers.

YRF to once again explore Dhoom franchise

As per reports in Hindustan Times, there was a clear winner at the box office for the Dhoom series. After finding success with Spy Universe, the production company is looking to branch out. Plus, they are thinking, Why not bring back a world they're already familiar with?

The action-thriller topped the 2004 Indian box office and starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, and Rimmi Subhamietra Sen. A motorcycle dealer and a police officer form an unlikely alliance in order to apprehend a motorcycle gang responsible for daring heists.

Hrithik Roshan plays the international thief Aryan in Dhoom 2 (2006), while Abhishek portrays ACP Jai Dixit, who is on a mission to catch him. Someone has informed Dixit that the robber is planning to go to Mumbai next and that if he is not stopped, things might get worse. However, his companion Shonali, played by Bipasha Basu, and a small-time criminal named Ali, played by Uday, eagerly join the pursuit to aid him. The art thief is about to experience an unexpected turn of events when he and his newfound partner Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) steal priceless stuff, which is his forte.

In Dhoom 3 (2013), the mysterious clown thief Sahir (Aamir Khan) has the city of Chicago under his control, and this time it's Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra) who are back to challenge him. There is no clear demarcation between good and evil in this struggle for vengeance and honour.

Sanjay Gadhvi directed Dhoom and Dhoom 2, while Vijay Krishna Acharya helmed the third part.

Dhoom 4 cast speculations

Meanwhile, talking about Dhoom 4, an insider also told the leading daily that, in addition to returning stars Abhishek and Uday, the producers are also eyeing new talent to join the group. Without them, the film franchise would be without something crucial. But they still haven't shown Abhishek the script.

Rumour has it that Shah Rukh Khan is being considered for a role in Dhoom 4 as well. Nothing is concrete, the insider says. Once again, Shah Rukh is collaborating with the production company. However, it remains unclear if it will be for the Tiger vs Pathaan project or Dhoom 4.

Well, rumours come and go about the Dhoom franchise, especially with the casting. However, we simply need to wait patiently for the official announcement from YRF.
