Manoj Bajpayee is already riding high on the success of Amazon Prime Video’s spy-thriller web series The Family Man, and now we hear that the actor was also offered a role in an upcoming espionage show, which has Hrithik Roshan in the lead.

According to reports, Manoj was approached by the team of the upcoming Indian adaptation of The Night Manager, which will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. The makers of the show had already roped in Hrithik to play the role of Jonathan Pine, which was essayed by Tom Hiddleston in the original. Manoj was reportedly offered the part of Hugh Laurie’s Richard Onslow Roper, who is also the antagonist.

The discussions, however, fell through with Manoj informing the team that he would not be able to accommodate the dates required for the show as the pandemic has delayed the projects he has already committed to. He is currently shooting for a movie and will begin work on the pending projects afterwards.

Meanwhile, the Indian version of The Night Manager is helmed by Sandeep Modi, who had co-directed Sushmita Sen’s Disney+ Hotstar series Aarya. The upcoming project will mark Hrithik’s OTT debut and is set to go on floors by the end of this year.

The Night Manager, which is based on John le Carre’s book, revolves around an undercover operation aimed at bringing down an international arms dealer. The British spy thriller, which premiered in 2016, went on to win three Golden Globe Awards and two PrimeTime Emmys.
