Dilip Tekwani all set to star with Sushmita Sen in Hotstar’s Aarya S2

Actor and director Dilip Tekwani is all set to star with Sushmita Sen in the second season of her hit crime drama series Aarya that will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. 

The actor shared a photo on his Facebook stating that after a delay of seven months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he will begin working. He hinted that it is a small role and wrote that he hopes it does not get cut in the end, like Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s cameo (referring to Siddiqui's cameo in Kamal Haasan's Hey Ram).

Sushmita stars in the titular role in this crime drama series. Based on Penoza, a Dutch series, Aarya follows a woman who will do anything to protect her loved ones. Sushmita’s character Arya joins a gang as Mafia Queen to take revenge on the people who murdered her husband, all the while taking care of her three children. 

The Ram Madhvani directorial boasts of an impressive cast including Jayant Kriplani, Namit Das, Priyasha Bhardwaj Chandrachur Singh, Vikas Kumar, Sikander Kher, Ankur Bhatia, Manish Chaudhary and Vishwajeet Pradhan.

The series ended on a cliffhanger and season 2 of the show will provide some clarity with regards to Sushmita’s character and what she will do next. 

Sushmita had revealed in an interview recently that the season 2 of the web series will soon be entering into the post-production stage. The show is set to release later this year.
