Director-actor Chandan to re-release Flirt: Want people to watch my film in theatres
Flirt had released on November 28, along with 8 other Kannada films and did not have much of a theatrical run. A re-release in a not too crowded week is the answer, says Chandan

Kannada actor Chandan turned director and producer for his film Flirt, which, by his own admission, hit theatres at the wrong time. Chandan released Flirt on November 28, 2025, a week in which it was 1 of 9 that hit theatres, while the previous week had 6, some of which had retained screens. If the overkill of Kannada films was not bad enough, the last week of November was also only days before Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar came along and took the box office by storm. There was no way that a small film like Flirt could have sustained, even with good reviews, reckons Chandan.
When will Flirt be back in theatres?
The actor, who is currently playing for the Karnataka team in the Celebrity Cricket League, is looking at bringing his film back to theatres shortly. Chandan will play the semi-final of CCL 2026 on January 31, and is hopeful of making it to the final and winning it too, following which he will focus on the re-release plans.
“The plan is to release Flirt yet again on February 13, 2026. I am in discussions with exhibitors and want to work out a scheme wherein tickets will cost no more than Rs 100 per person. Flirt is a small film that was made at a Rs 3 crore budget, I don’t need hefty ticket pricing to recover costs,” says Chandan speaking to Guarantee News, adding that his agenda is only to get his film across to audiences.
The debutant filmmaker adds that given the positive response he got during the film’s initial limited theatrical run, he firmly believes that it is meant for viewing in movie halls. This is also why he did not entertain possible satellite and digital deals so far.
