Director Bharathiraaja hospitalised; Radikaa Sarathkumar offers prayers to the Thiruchitrambalam actor

Veteran director Bharathirajaa, who was recently seen as Dhanush's grandfather in Thiruchitrambalam, is hospitalised after some discomfort in his body. Though there is no official statement on what exactly happened to the director-turned-actor, the buzz is that he fainted suddenly at the Madurai airport and that he was soon admitted to the hospital. According to reports, he is suffering from fever, dehydration and digestive issues. The doctors, who have been monitoring his health, have advised to take good rest for a speedy recovery. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai.

In the meantime, actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, who was introduced to films with Kizhakke Pogum Rail (1978), by Bharathiraaja, has been praying for his recovery in France. The actress shared a video of her lighting candles and praying for her mentor at a church. She captioned the pictures, "En iniya director ⁦@offBharathiraja ⁩ avargaley, my special prayer to you to get well soon at the Lourdes church ,in France. waiting to see you soon on my return, miss talking to you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 (sic)." Radikaa'a maiden film turned out to be a blockbuster which ran in theatres for around a year and launched her career with a bang. Since then, there has been no looking back for the actress.

In the meantime, Bharathiraja has been winning praises for his portrayal as Pazham's (Dhanush) grandfather in Thiruchitrambalam. The film, directed by Mithran R Jawahar, opened to positive reviews from the audience and critics and has been running successfully in theatres. Thiruchitrambalam's star cast includes Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Raashi Khanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj and Munishkanth to name a few. The marks the comeback of the hit combo of Dhanush and Anirudh Ravichander. Bharathiraja was also seen in Karthi and Aditi Shankar's latest release, Viruman, which was directed by M Muthaiah.
