The trailer of the Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi starrer film Double XL was released on Wednesday, and it seems to offer a fun ride to the audience, though it addresses a very important socially relevant issue.

The film revolves around two girls, Rajshri Trivedi and Siara Khanna, with big dreams of becoming a sports presenter on TV and a fashion vlogger, respectively. However, despite being talented, they are constantly ridiculed by society at every step and get rejected due to their body weight, as both of them are plus-size women. When all doors are closing for them to achieve their dreams and submit to the family's expectation of getting married, they find each other and decide to pursue their dreams together.

The journey shows how they overcome all the obstacles and break the stereotype of beauty standards. The film was shot in Meerut and also in some international locations, including London.

This is the first time that Sonakshi and Huma come together in a film, while two heroine films in Bollywood are few and far between. It will be interesting to see how the film celebrates the friendship of two women while also raising important questions about social norms set by patriarchal society and followed by all the girls in order to keep the elderly happy.

The film also features Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra in pivotal roles, while the quick appearance of cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has also generated curiosity around his acting in the film.

The film is directed by Satramm Ramani and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, alongside Ashwin Varde, Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi, and Mudassar Aziz.

Double XL is all set to be released theatrically on November 4, 2022.
