Dulquer Salmaan's banner Wayfarer Films to present Manikandan-starrer Lover in Kerala

Actor Manikandan is only a few films old, but he has already proved to be a seasoned actor in the making. With him expecting the release of the upcoming Lover, it has now been announced that the film will be presented by Dulquer Salmaan's banner Wayfarer Films in Kerala.

“Wayfarer Films is delighted to announce the forthcoming release of "Lover," an eagerly awaited film from the exceptionally talented creators of the critically acclaimed masterpiece, "Good Night,” the banner wrote on X (formerly Twitter) while making the announcement. Lover is set to hit theatres on February 9, coinciding with the release of Lal Salaam, starring Rajinikanth in a cameo role.

What we know about Lover

The makers of Lover released the trailer for the film recently, focusing heavily on the courtship period between the couple, played by Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya. The film is written and directed by Prabhuram Vyas in his feature film debut. He made the web series Livin earlier. Manikandan was last seen in the 2023 hit film Good Night, in which he portrayed the role of Motor Mohan, a man whose snoring problem creates a rift in his marital life.

The film has been getting positive word of mouth from the set of people who have seen it prior to its release. In the latest, Udhayanidhi had appreciated the film . Revealing this, Manikandan posted on X, “It was such a pleasure to receive your wishes over call @Udhaystalin sir I feel so elated to learn that you loved & enjoyed our film #Lover For an upcoming artist like me, It feels great to be appreciated for my performance in detail. It gives me more energy to explore more interesting roles!!”

Team of Lover

Besides Manikandan, the film also stars Sri Gouri Priya, Kanna Ravi, Saravanan, Geetha Kailasam, Harish Kumar, Nikhila Shankar, Rini, Pintu Pandu, and Arunachaleshwaran, among others. It is backed by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banner of Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment, which earlier produced the 2023 success film Good Night starring Manikandan. The music is scored by Sean Roldan, with the film’s cinematography handled by Shreyaas Krish. Barath Vikraman served as the editor.
