A unique take on complex love stories

Going by the trailer, the film promises to offer a different outlook on relationships and challenges faced by couples during fallouts. In the trailer, Arun, who appears to feel distant from Divya, begins to behave violently in desperation to mend the relationship. While on the other hand, Divya is unsure about what the relationship holds for them in future and asks for space and time away from him, which makes him suspicious of her fidelity. While most films take the cliched step of showcasing the problems, Lover promises to delve into love, trust and communication issues, and takes us through the nuances within a complicated romantic relationship.

Pleasing composition

Composer Sean Roldan has ensured to bring the vibe of the film through his soulful compositions and background score. The song from the film can be listened to on loop, while the background score has been scored in a well-intended manner that suits the situation and time in the film.

Compelling performances by lead - Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya

Manikandan, who portrayed a similar role in Good Night, has once again stepped into the shoes of a problematic partner who struggles to understand his lover. The actor makes a compelling appearance as Arun, who is impatient yet grappling with the fears of whether his relationship would fail. Sri Gouri Priya essays a promising role, who is caught between her indecisiveness and her partner’s change of behaviour towards her. Both Arun and Divya will bring in emotional resonance to the audience, as the actors appear to have convincingly portrayed their roles.

Realistic approach in the narration

From the trailer, it is understood that Arun and Divya had been together for over six years before they faced a setback in their relationship. The film talks about real issues dealt by couples and uses a realistic approach in narrating the story. Overall, the film will resonate with many due to its relatability.

A serious drama rather than a romantic screenplay

Lover can be touted as a serious drama more than a romantic film, due to the nature of its narrative. As director Prabhuram claims, the film aims to explore complexities of human relationships in a more thought-out manner.
