The audio rights of Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha has been bagged by Sony Music. Sony Music made the announcement recently on their social media handle. Music for the film is by Jakes Bejoy and songs by Shaan Rahman.

The gangster action flick is helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, who marks his directorial debut with the film. It is to be noted that Abhilash is the son of popular director Joshiy. The film is scripted by Porinju Mariyam Jose writer Abhilash N Chandran. Interestingly, Porinju Mariyam Jose was helmed by Joshiy.

King of Kotha is billed as a pan- India film, which will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The plot is set against a fictional town called Kotha where the gangster saga takes place. Apart from Dulquer Salmaan, the remaining star cast comprises Shabeer Kallarakkal, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Jose Vinod, Prasanna, Shammi Thilakan, Nyla Usha and Shanthi Krishna.

Cinematography is by Nimish Ravi and editing is by Shyam Sasidharan. Dulquer has also doubled up as a co-producer and his Wayfarer Films is bankrolling the project.

 Dulquer was last seen in Malayalam in Kurup. The biographical crime thriller was based on the life of fugitive Sukumara Kurup, who was one of the most wanted criminals in Kerala in the 1980s. Kurup had faked his own death to claim an insurance worth Rs 8 lakh and had murdered a man named Chacko in his car along with his aides. Later, the scheme was exposed to the police. The film received critical acclaim and also emerged as one of the highest grossers in Malayalam.

Dulquer was recently part of the critically acclaimed Chup, and is also working in Raj and DK's Guns & Gulaabs, which also stars Rajkummar Rao, Adarsh Gourav, Gulshan Devaiah and TJ Bhanu. The show is inspired by the Misfits of the World.
